Making Money VS Passion – India with million opportunities with Field Intolerance

HEY EVERYONE!
5 years ago i went to an event organised by an international school of design. One of my photography mentors and guest professor from that design school is teaching in our Andhra university in as i’m pursuing diploma in photography.

So much effort for nothing!? that’s what i felt about the whole event, of course they displayed their portfolios and stuff but it’s just all their people and their school around. No new people or unknown explorers in can see there.

but it’s all opportunists there lurking around with amazing gear and zero passion all in hurry and dazzling hustling for nothing.

The only good thing happened there is fashion designers got some credit where they showcased some good stuff which they didn’t even mention their inspirations in design or where they were mentored  or brought from. That’s pretty sad!

In this world coming to field of design and arts in india its always Money Vs Passion.

I agree it all needs some self Advertising or popular contacts around to be called and respected as PRO art person than talent it’self.

I strongly believe people will buy a straight line on white canvas for million dollars than a complete 100% recreation of Monalisa painting by Leonardo Davinci.

weirdly arts is where people individually make millions of dollars where it’s the same place where people are poor and showcase their skills on streets. How they did it? you may ask? they shell out words like passion, hard work, yada yada.. but Lady Gaga says it’s LUCK. It’s luck how you can grow so fast in the world of arts and people accepting your perspective and words in music or photography or painting or whatever. It’s luck!

But in my perspective a good plan and execution and having a vision of how your going to grow in your field makes more sense than calling it luck, secondly what eminem said, you could only get one shot, seize the moment or it’s gone forever.

personally i got many ONE SHOT moments in my life. I let them go, slide away to another people. why? fear, thinking “can i make it?” self assessment each and every second ” what others may think ” is hiding true talents in this word. Not only arts but many fields. Fear of Judgement.

Coming to india, taking arts as career is BIG NO NO from parents side unless you are filthy rich.
You often denied from sports and recreational activities considered “waste of time”  and “waste of money” better invest in books and IIT courses to have a better ‘future’

that is pretty depressing

Personally my parents never forced me to do particular things, this and that. I chose my own path in career building. I failed miserably but hey pretty good lessons learnt in life. Sadly my mental health didn’t keep up along to learn from my failures. But i believe world is always there to help me, among them my parents especially

I earned Pay checks by gaming, by content creation, photography, videography, editing or even just by talking. Making money with Passion is possible!

But it takes Right people and Right time in your life, who take you seriously as a professional and considers your passion and pays equally. 2-4 clients you make with that potential is enough for bring in crowd towards you. Now i’m trying the same, soon i am gonna pull some people around me with my passion.

I may fail too! but it always let me know HOW NOT TO APPROACH a situation and try an another alternative to get on my career on my track. It’s always Money making VS Passion.
Plan and make it right? you may fail. go without a plan and be spontaneous? you may fail. Just hang on and don’t give up until you hit the luck (by lady gaga) then stomp the failure with huge success.

As swami vivekananda said, life is too short to experience all, learn form others mistakes and experiences.

There will part two for this post about Passion VS Money in different stages in life.
I’ll blog my failures and failed approaches and how to do better, what would have been done, an alternative. So that you don’t make such mistakes. If i succeed you will now the mantra. Just follow the blog for more. Until then keep hustling. Don’t give up. Make it work!

see you in my next post!
